Free Easy Image Resizer for Vista

I loved the image resizer tool that came with the Windows XP Powertoys set and I’ve found it quite annoying that Vista doesn’t have a similar quick and easy tool (that lets you right click on a photo or group of photos and resize them instantly).  Well, I just found a very nice and free one that works very similarly to the XP Powertoy tool.  Here it is.  Pretty sweet.

  • Hey AJ, I like that one too, I’ve been using it for about a year and a half.

Cool. You’re going to have to let me know when you find stuff like that. You’ve got a knack for finding cool programs.

  • Here are a couple of free audio editing tools, I have not used either very much but each have their advantages. Audacity has been around for a while (It has a great reputation although my limited use has had several odd issues) and I just recently found the Free Audio Editor when a friend was having issues with Audacity:

  • If you want something like Photoshop, but can’t afford the $$$ there is an opensource program called Artweaver that is very similar and will save files in the Photoshop format:
    http://www.artweaver.de

Also Adobe has light or elements versions of most of their big boy software packages that are around $100 each.

  • Desktop publishing can be gotten free from the opensource program called Scribus (www.scribus.net). I also like the option for most people for using Microsoft Publisher which runs about $150 but is very powerful and easy to use. I have not used Scribus so cannot give you an opinion. I have used Publisher, Pagemaker, InDesign and a few others. My current standard is InDesign.
