We are…
Gospel-centered
We believe that the Good News of the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross is the center of the Christian’s life and mission. Because the preaching and hearing of the gospel is essential for the salvation of the nations, the spread of the gospel is our chief preoccupation. Furthermore, we believe that the gospel is essential for the believer’s continued life, sanctification, and growth in grace. As we seek to train missionary candidates and plant churches we are driven by a passion to spread this message which Paul calls “the gospel of the glory of Christ.”
Reformed
We are committed to the Doctrines of Grace–that is, to a Reformed understanding of the absolute sovereignty of God over all creation, including salvation. We seek to be God-centered, God-impassioned, and God-empowered in all of our missions and church planting efforts. We are not ashamed to say that we are cross-cultural, church planting Calvinists.
Baptistic
We believe that the task of the missionary is to make disciples of all nations and that part of that process is to baptize new converts by immersion as a public declaration of their faith in Christ.
Local Church Oriented
We believe that a vital part of disciple-making among the nations is the planting of indigenous, self-sustained local church congregations in which God’s Word is faithfully taught, God’s people are edified, and God’s mission is perpetuated. While evangelism is an indispensable part of what we do, we believe that the missionary’s task is incomplete until converts are united to a local church body.
Obedience Oriented Discipleship
To Every Tribe church-planters practice an “obedience oriented” method of discipleship which emphasizes the indispensable element of surrender and submission to the lordship of Jesus Christ in the disciple’s life. It is not sufficient to lead people to a profession of faith. The task of missions must include leading the nations to observe all that Christ has commanded.
